Date Night # 2

Sunday February 22nd

I have always wanted to see the Harlem Globe Trotters. Now if you know me you'd know that I hate basketball, but I really like the Globe Trotters. For the last couple years we have tried to get tickets to see them, but it never worked out cause of work or kids being sick or not having enough money. Well this time everything worked out for us to go. Bill and Deanna watched our kiddies for us :0) It was such a fun time. JR bought me some Globe Trotter shorts and we bought some wrist bands for the kids too. I look forward to taking the kids sometime when they come back to town.

Valentines Date Night

Friday February 13th

My New Years resolution this year is to have at least one date night a month; but so far I have been on two in January and this was number one of two for this month. JR suprised me for Valentines Day by taking me out to dinner to Anthony's in Bremerton. It was a really nice dinner. I had True Cod and Chips and JR had Mahi Mahi Tacos and a bowl of chowder. It was really yummy food. After dinner we went to Coldstone to get some ice cream to take home and enjoy cause we were stuffed from dinner.

We are in front of the fountain near the ferry dock. There were cool colors in it that made the water look neat.

Bible Quizzing

Saturday Feb. 7th

Charlie participated in Bibli Quizzing for the first time this year.

The kids had to memorize alot of verses from the Bible in about a months time. I was very impressed with how they all did. For their age group in T&T our church took 2nd overall. Such smart kids :0)

Jacob's 5th Birthday

Jacob's birthday fell on a Monday this year so we celebrated it on Sunday. His Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents, Cousins and our family friends Tish and Madison came to help celebrate in his special day. He picked out a t-rex picture to be on his cupcake cake.

He got alot of fun treasures and loves every one of them.

Charlie's Baptism

December 28, 2008

A couple months ago Charlie made the wonderful decision of asking Jesus into his heart. He came and told us about this choice. As parents it made us oh so happy :0) He also made the decision to be baptized. To make sure he understood what being baptized he had a talk with Miss Tish (she is the children's ministries director at our church). After we all were sure he understood what this meant the date was set. He had the choice of Pastor, Miss Tish or one of us (his parents) to baptize him. He chose his Daddy to do the honors. We had all our family there to witness this wonderful event in his life. Ken took some great pictures to help capture this special day.

Zoo Lights 2008

Tuesday December 30

We had a friend of Annie's spend the night so her parents could have a date night. So while she was here we went to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma to see the pretty lights. So here are some of the pictures of our night.

Saturday December 20th

We got tickets to see "A Christmas Carol" about a month ago. Every year we try to go to a Christmas show/play. Now I am sure you are wondering who the "WE" are. It includes the following : Myself, Emily, Deanna, Beth, Colleen, Carla, Tina and Chelsey. Now this year the "WE" included the following: Myself, Emily, Beth, Deanna, Carla, Alex and Chelsey. We were going to go out to eat before the play at the Cheesecake Factory. I was really looking forward to this day. Now as you may know it snowed. It was just a couple inches a couple days before we were suppose to go. The day before the play it continued to snow and snow and snow. The day we were suppose to go it was still snowing and was going to snow up to 12 more inches that night. Our play was at 7 pm in Seattle. So we decided to play it safe and not go :0( Which ended up being a smart decision. So instead of going to the play we went out for lunch to the tea house in town. Not all the girls could make it due to the weather. It was nice to get out of the house and visit with some of my favorite girls. Lunch was yummy and the snow was falling the whole time. We all made it home safely too.

Christmas at The Gatlins

Merry Christmas ! ! !

We started our day out waking up around 6:30 to see what Santa brought us at our house.

We had a little trouble getting out of our neighborhood but we made it there safely. The road going to Grandma's house was not drivable by our van. So Jeff and Bill drove their trucks down (they are 4 wheel drive) to take us and our presents to our waiting family. We have such wonderful family to take us safely to Grandma's. Thank you Bill and Jeff for being our taxi's for the day :0) Grandpa made a yummy turkey and all the fixings. We had about 25 or so people over for dinner. Always a wonderful time and full bellys.
